Four Palaces - Tứ Phủ The Council Hall of the Mother Goddess shrine (in the Campus of the Voi Phục Shrine in Hà Nội)

The Council Hall of the Mother Goddess shrine (in the campus of the Voi Phục Shrine in Hà Nội) venerates the three Father Emperors: the Father Emperor of Heaven, the Father Emperor of Earth, and the Father Emperor of Water. Positioned beneath the statues of these esteemed figures are the representations of the Five Venerable Mandarins.

In commemoration of the millennium, since Thăng Long (the former name of Hà Nội) was designated as the capital of Viet Nam, the hall underwent a comprehensive reconstruction. It is believed that the restoration was guided by the layout observed in the Vinh Hoa hall during the reign of Emperor Lý Thánh Tông.

According to the tenets of the Mother Goddess religion’s Four Palaces doctrine, the Father Emperor of Heaven corresponds to the Jade Emperor, the Father Emperor of Earth the Great Emperor of Phong Đô, and the Father Emperor of Water the Dragon King of the Eastern Ocean. The Five Venerable Mandarins encompass the First Mandarin of Heaven, the Second Mandarin of Mountain, the Third Mandarin of Water, the Fourth Mandarin of Earth, and the Fifth Mandarin, Governor General.
