A photograph captured in 1920 at Dầy Palace, located in Nam Định Province, depicts a vendor showcasing traditional folk paintings. Prominently featured in the image is a sizable artwork illustrating Avalokiteshvara and the Council of Four Palaces, which includes the four Father Emperors and the four Mother Goddesses of Four Palaces.

The Father Emperors include:

  • Father Emperor of Heaven, Jade Emperor
  • Father Emperor of Earth, Grand Emperor of the Underworld
  • Father Emperor of Water, Dragon King of the Eastern Ocean
  • Father Emperor of Mountain, Venerable Saint of Mount Tản

The Mother Goddesses include:

  • First Mother Goddess of Heaven, Princess Thanh Vân
  • Second Mother Goddess of Earth, Princess Liễu Hạnh
  • Third Mother Goddess of Water, Princess Xích Lân
  • Fourth Mother Goddess of Mountain, Princess Bạch Anh

We are wondering if there is any chance this painting comes from the same printing block as the ancient painting we have obtained.
