Four Palaces - Tứ Phủ Excerpt from the Court Literature Hymn Dedicated to the Fourth Mistress of Earth
An illustration of the Fourth Mistress of Earth by artist Tree. This illustration is from the project Divine Portraits by Four Palaces – Tứ Phủ

The Fourth Mistress of Earth is among the twelve Holy Mistresses of Four Palaces. She is after the Third Mistress of Water and before the Fifth Mistress of the Lân Stream. It is believed that She assists Mother Goddess Liễu Hạnh (i.e. the Second Mother Goddess of Earth).

“… She spreads Her agarwood fans, a sight so divine,

To vanquish suffering, where compassion does shine.

Her golden fans shimmer, granting prosperity’s gleam,

Longevity’s blessings in a radiant stream.

Her aromatic fans waft, bringing peace to each land,

Blessings near and far, by Her gentle hand.

From emperors to people, in harmony’s ceaseless song,

In Her tranquil embrace, all hearts do belong…”
